Athlete’s Foot is a common fungal infection which has the following symptoms:
– Itchy white patches between your toes
– Red, sore and flaky patches on your feet
– Skin that may crack and bleed
– Can cause fluid-filled blisters
Fungal infections like Athlete’s Foot are unlikely to get better on their own and if not treated, can spread to your toenails and cause a fungal toe infection, so it’s best to get it treated as soon as you see any symptoms.
During treatment, it’s important that you:
– dry your feet before washing them (especially between your toes) – it’s best to dab the, dry, rather than rub them
– always use a separate towel for your feet and wash it regularly
– remove your shoes when at home
– wear clean socks every day – cotton socks are best
